THE POISONOUS PLANTS OF THE PINK FOREST

Chapter Two of the Fantastical Encyclopedia of Fistbump the Sky

Welcome, mages and scholars, to the second chapter of The Fantastical Encyclopedia of the Imagined World of Fistbump the Sky: The Pink Forest and all its poisonous plants. Deep in the South, underneath the Central Ocean and bordering the territories of Ma-A, lies the Pink Forest. One of the three Forests of Colour, the Pink Forest, is home to poisonous plants and no living creatures. These vile plants lure their victims with their benign appearances. However, they only kill if boiled before consumption. Those who do not boil them undergo torture of the body or even the soul, wishing for death.

Before we delve into the chapter and its secrets, “The Poisonous Plants of Fistbump the Sky” is currently running a free promotion on Amazon from December 20 - December 24, 204. Now, with that out of the way, let us begin.

The Inspiration

The inspiration for this chapter was my mom’s garden. I used to be terrified of these Strelitzia (Birds of Paradise) flowers my mom used to have. I honestly thought they would transform into birds and peck my eyes out. So I forced myself to walk past them every day until I got over my irrational fear of bird-looking flowers. It didn’t help. But this had me wondering what it would be like if every single plant around you was out to end you.

That’s how I made the Pink Forest. It was also necessary to create a forest like this to maintain some sort of balance as the Blue Forest is filled with medicinal plants. Equilibrium, my friend, equilibrium. I suppose I should thank the Strelitzia flowers, for scaring me. I also realized that, like flowers and clowns, the most dangerous things can have the most innocent of appearances.

These are plants I came up with. However, they are not the only ones you can find in the Pink Forest. Let us begin.

“The most dangerous things can have the most innocent of appearances. “

The Divoc plant has been found to grow in the vacant nests of predatory birds, living off the remaining energy. It does not kill its victims but forces them to observe the world and themselves through the eyes of others. Without the mercy of a time limit, this experience frequently drives the Divoc’s victims mad.

CONSUMPTION METHOD:
Eat it directly for torturous side effects.
Boil and drink for instant death.

Salivatsas can be found growing on most watery surfaces but have shown a preference for still waters, such as ponds and lakes. The effects of the Salivatsa plant all depend on the amount digested. If a pinch or less, one will lose all one’s senses, except for taste. If more than a pinch, the body will slowly and painfully morph into a gigantic tongue.

The only known method of survival is to find a Salivasta plant to merge with. We believe it is due to tongues being unable to survive without being attached to something else.

CONSUMPTION METHOD:
Chew raw for side effects, ensuring not to swallow.
Boil and drink for instant death.

Read the book

Growing on the borders of the Pink Forest, Poppins plants share more similarities to umbrellas than their appearance. These plants effectively attach their victim’s soul to themselves before floating away with the victim’s soul until the plant dies. The victim will most likely depart from this life before the plant does, as a body tends to wither rather quickly without a soul. We believe this method to be some sort of forced astral projection.

CONSUMPTION METHOD:
Boil and drink cold for forced astral projection.
Drink hot for instant death.

I also made these ones. Their appearance and name should give you a clue to what their method of torture might be. Got any ideas?

And that, my dear scholars and mages, is all I can share for now I’m afraid. If you ever want to read more then just look for Fistbump the Sky.
